Carlos Beltran joins Mets front desk

Carlos Beltran is back with the New York Mets. This time in a different role.

The ‘New York Post’ reported on the 6th (Korean time) that Beltran will join the Mets front desk and assist general manager Billy Eppler. It is not yet known what role he will play.

Beltran, who played 20 seasons in the major leagues alone, has a deep relationship with the Mets. He joined the team for the 2005 season, and served for seven seasons.

During this time, he won four All-Stars, three Gold Gloves, and two Silver Sluggers.
There are also painful memories. Ahead of the 2020 season, he was nominated as the manager of the Mets, but after being named as the instigator of the signing scandal when he was a Houston Astros player, he resigned from his position as manager without being able to play a single game. 메이저놀이터

Since then, he has worked as a commentator at YES Network, a broadcaster hosted by the New York Yankees. In January, the possibility of a role change from match commentary to studio host was raised.

The Mets had tried to sign him before. The New York Post introduced that Mets manager Buck Showalter had pushed to sign him as an assistant hitting coach a year ago, but he didn’t go as planned.
