‘Pirate Captain’ McCutchen, PNC Park return gun exploded… 2G consecutive multi-hits

‘Pirate Captain’ Andrew McCutchen (37) drew an arch in his second game back at PNC Park.

McCutchen started as the third hitter and right fielder in the 2023 Major League (MLB) regular season home game against the Chicago White Sox held at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA on the 9th (Korean time), getting 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 3 at-bats including a home run. He did a great job scoring 2 goals. Pittsburgh lost 5-11 due to the collapse of the mound, but Pittsburgh fans were able to take comfort with McCutchen’s home run, which came home after a long and long journey.

With no runners out at the end of the first inning, McCutchen attacked opposing pitcher Mike Clevinger’s four-seam fastball and hit a right-handed double to open up an opportunity to score. Pittsburgh took the lead with a timely hit by Carlos Santana, the follow-up fourth hitter. But after that, the mound collapsed. In the bottom of the 7th inning, when they were losing 4-6, they gave up 5 runs and virtually won the game.  토토사이트

At the end of the ninth inning, when the game was in full swing, with no runners out, McCutchen pushed a 158 km/h fastball from White Sox setup man Reynaldo Lopez and hit a right-handed home run. PNC Park home fans went wild. This home run was McCutchen’s first home run of the season, and it was a return shot at PNC Park.

McCutchen, who was called the “Pirate Captain” and led Pittsburgh’s heyday, wore a San Francisco Giants uniform as a trade in the 2018 season, then went through the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers before signing with Pittsburgh again last winter. In the Pittsburgh home opener against the White Sox on the 8th, a celebration of his return was held with the pitch clock introduced from this season stopped. On this day, McCutchen responded to the fan support with a multi-hit, and even hit a home run on this day (9th), which was the second game of his return.
